I've noticed that a lot of folks recommend replacing the springs on the P38 with Wolff springs. The problem is that Wolff offers 2 options, one is two 6 lb springs and the other is two 8 lb springs. The factory standard is advertised on the site is 6 lbs yet they offer 8 lb springs as well. I'm just wondering what would be the purpose of the extra poundage. The site says "8 Lb recoil springs to restore factory functioning and specifications to pistol." but I'm not quite sure what that means if 6lbs is factory standard. I don't know much about pistols so I apologize is this is a stupid question. My guess would be to allow you to shoot hotter loads or possibly if you have feeding issues or stove pipe jams?
