refinish my m1 carbine stock

Post by c141b »

I bought this Inland m1 from CMP, it had a Polyurethane finish. I did not care for the feel of it, so I used formby's paint and poly remover which took the poly off and half of the red stain.I used dark walnut gun stock stain #69 then 2 coats of BLO and 2 coats of TOM'S 1/3 MIX. I like the darker look and the smell of the wood.

That looks a lot better than a polyurethane finish.

Great job
