Desert Storm surrender leaflets

Post by Candyman »

I picked these, and more, up in 1991 during Desert Storm. The US dropped these all over the Iraqi lines to get them to give up. I took a few of them from POWs.
If you look close at some of them you will see what appeares to be mold, but in fact it is spots of oil.
The ones that are more worne and tattered were dropped early in the war.
I have been told that most people have never seen these.

Here are two that I know few have ever seen. I picked these up in the bunker of an Iraqi officer. These are leaflets printed up by the Iraqis.

Cool I've seen a few of those, but not all of them. We dropped them during Desert Storm. Need to dig mine out and post them from Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and one that was supposed to be dropped in Columbia about the hostages being held by the FARC (I have duplicates of the Columbia one if anyone is into collecting stuff like this).

I managed to get my copies before we dropped them.

Very cool Lee, thank you for sharing. I've not seen these before.

OK these are a cool piece of history. I wonder how many of the younger vets actually saved these. I have never seen these for sale at flee markets or antique stores. Lets see some more examples. And thanks Candyman for reposting some of your lost posts on stock work. It takes a lot of work to redo some of the better posts. I would like to see the Enfield recoil plate one redone. I have a photo copy. Maybe the original author will redo it.

Here's the ones I have as said some from Desert Storm (One even has the EGA on it), some from Enduring Freedom, and one that was supposed to be dropped in Columbia (I can't remember if they were dropped or not).

Scan 1 and 2 front and rear.
