took the type 38 out yesterday, and I'm glad I did
50 yds, sandbag fore end
Precision Cartridge 156 gr RN soft point

if the previous owner was holding this in firing position, he also suffered some serious damage
you can still see chunks of metal embedded in the stock
it has the mum intact, and no duffle cut, adds to the mystery

Nice shooting Merle!

thank you. I was really surprised by the Japanese T38. it has an oddball rear sight, with an aperture in place of the normal leaf, sure seems to work though.....

ImageI did some load development with some old 175 grain pulled bullets in 30-06. I have not had much luck with 150 grain handloads. I find with this gun she like heavier bullets in 30-06.

The rifle I used is an odd duck...it is my Portuguese Model M 946 Madsen. It was rebuilt by Midwest Metal Creations as a self loader. I have a 30-06 and 8x57 barrel group.

Here is a short movie I made on tripod mode:

I need to get the remote firing device fixed on it. I sold 2 ARs to buy this rifle.

I dug out my Yugo captured K98. The ammo is 170 grain LFP in berdan primed Yugo brass from 1954 with 10 grains of TrailBoss. A nice gallery load.
