I sometimes walk my property with the bayonet fixed in late August to September because of the spiders.
The critters aren't that big, it's the blasted webs! I reach out and use the blade to cut the webs down.
As it starts to cool off, the spiders go crazy weaving huge webs across every path and opening, often just a few feet apart.
Arguing with someone who denounces reason is like administering medicine to a corpse.

The last bayonet is for a French Fusil modele 1866(Chassepot). I think it may fit a few other models as well. It will send spiders running when they see it coming.
