Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Carcano Folding Bayonet
Finally tracked down a folding bayonet that cost less than my rifle. Had some surface rust but cleaned up great!

Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet
I picked one up in very nice shape on ebay a few month ago minus the scabbard, for $130. I figured it lives on the rifle, the scabbard didn't matter.

Neat. I had one as a kid without the scabbard, and it disappeared one day. I suspect my mom was worried

Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet
I picked one up years ago at a gun show as part of a batch of 5 old /odd bayonets along with a couple of British spike bayonets and oddly enough, a Johnson rifle bayonet. All this for $15.
I had no Idea what I had bought for a year or so until a friend told me what I had. It was just luck mixed with ignorance with no keen observation on my part. I have since improved some.

I'm not a fan of Italian rifles for the most part but that folding bayonet has always got my attention they are very cool.
Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet
Not often you find a bayonet dearer than the rifle but this is one of them.
Your Bayo looks to be in great condition.
Does yours have some remaining "plum" finish on it?

Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet
Mark AP, I agree for the most part. I got and M38 just to get one of the folding bayonets as the Italian representation in my collection. But I would like to get a long Carcano for comparison, it's a nice shooting rifle.
The blade has just a small amount of the plum finish at the base of the blade. There's is some minor pitting on the blade and there was some surface rust when I bought, but it cleaned up pretty nicely. The condition kept the price down which was nice.

I'm looking for an unmodified 80/'87 bayonet, round here they seem far rarer than the folders, which are "hen's teeth" themselves
