Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Old yugoslav mountain warfare kit, ww2 style

#1 Post by M67 » Sat Mar 09, 2019 11:47 am

Old vintage mountain warfare kit. Belonged to yugoslav mountain brigade in Slovenia. It is pure ww2 style.
I have uniform, combat gear and winter camouflage kit.

Love your work.

The items you collect are very interesting and for most of us unattainable.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate that somebody likes it. I really like this old style of mountain equipment.

Where would you find items such as these? I wouldn't think these would be that common just lying around.
Do they come from other collections or auction houses?

It is hard to find. This is an equipment that remained in the old warehouses of the Yugoslav Army after the end of the conflict and the agreement in1991. I myself got snow shoes (?) and iceaxe. I got a alpine/mountain hammer from a friend, a retired lieutenant colonel. He worked in the barracks of a mountain unit and gave me clay and mountain hammer from old warehouses. All this equipment was no longer needed, but the majority is practically new however completely outdated, so it is no longer in use. most needed for protocol gifts.

You ask a good question, I have seen the large pick/ace called a climbing axe and climbing pick it seems interchangeable in common man talk.. Now what you have I would call snow shoes because ice shoes usually just have spikes on the bottoms of them and are a much smaller foot print size.
