Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

#1 Post by 72 usmc » Fri Jan 17, 2020 9:05 pm

I just got this DVD for 10 bucks then found out the movie is on line free     A neat movie worth a view (1 1/2 hour long):

Here is the movie:

The movie inspired by real events tells the story of the KV-1 tank's crew heroic deed. Having a losing fight, the crew of Semyon Konovalov destroyed 16 enemy tanks, 2 armored vehicles and 8 vehicles with enemy personnel near Nizhnemityakin farm in Tarasovskoye district of Rostov region. This is the story of not the poster heroes, but broken, cheerful, and very diverse guys who just wanted to live. At the decisive moment they managed to do the only right thing and performed the deed worthy of the legend.

Not sure if any specimens are in US museums? Apparently not.

I have it in queue. Sounds good. My other faves are "White Tiger" (mystical) and "The Edge" (trains and labor camps. Off the wall)

I watched it this afternoon. I was done well though the translation from Russian to English was a little strange at times. An interesting interpretation of an historical event with some original equipment.

I'm adding this to my watch list especially since it has subtitles. With my bad hearing I still can't hear words even with my new hearing aids.

Ya, I know what you mean. $5,000 and it's still "What?" and theres "bear in the zink" =hair in the sink. "Hogs" in the back yard instead of "dogs."
:shhh: :shhh: After 9 years of M48 tanks when young and hot rods as well as years of fun shooting. What you got left is crickets in the background...
Another neat tank movie is T34 that I found at Walmart's junk DVD bin.

The translation is from Russian to Polish. not much help. Do a search and you'll find T-34 with English sub titles. It's a good movie for entertainment.

I just saw Tankers on you tube with English subtitles: good entertainment, but Tank battles don’t really happen at 50 yards. If they did there wouldn’t be SO MANY misses!

The dvd T34 at Walmart and Amazon has English subtitles. It was cheep, like $13 for a old fashion DVD, if you go blue ray, it's much more. I am not sure if you can still buy a regular dvd player? Most are blue ray or that other format. Heck, I just got a somewhat, new, normal DVD from a friend that got a new unit and gave me his. Everyone wants HD or better. Heck, I still have a tube tv and rotary phone   :snooty: :snooty:
I still watch my VHS stuff.
