August 21 eclipse

Post by DeaconKC »

Well, we are dead center of where the best view will be. Everyone is going nuts for this thing, we are just gonna grill out for lunch and watch it from the back yard.

Here in Panama City, Florida we'll get to see a partial eclipse, but I guess a partial eclipse beats no eclipse.

I'm in central Illinois, but I plan on heading south to see it. I saw a partial when I was in France in 2015, that was interesting, I expect this to be mesmerizing.

Back in the 70's we had a 90%+ eclipse on Long Island, NY.
Brought out my telescope with a sun shade. The image was cool, but it didn't even get dark! What a disappointment.
Guess you have to be dead on to get the full effect. :(

My wife's son is in Nashville.

We are hoping to make a road trip during that time to see it.

Thanks for the map, Popeye. Very helpful.

I have family in Idaho; I might just have to see if they'll put me up for a night or two. I hear motels are pretty hard to come by along that arc already.
