Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Damn! Squib maybe? The shot before before the "Kaboom" didn't make any sound, should have inspected rifle and bore before firing again. One reason when I take people out shooting my milsurps or any gun for that matter I listen to every shot and am ready to step in and take over. I give a safety brief prior to them shooting, telling them if a shot doesn't sound right or feel right stop and put the gun down with the muzzle pointed downrange. I'll take over, clear the weapon after an appropriate wait and inspect the empty shell casing, the unfired round if it didn't fire, and inspect the breech and bore, clear as needed. Reload and I take the first shot before letting them shoot again.

Never had a squib so far, but have had hang fires, duds, and a few rounds that seemed to be more powerful then the rest. Preach, eat, and sleep safely, maybe all those years in the military has made me anal like that. But I an attached to my body parts and my ugly mug!

The problem was the prior round. There was an obvious malfunction & all the warning flags should have been set.
Unfortunately they weren't.
My best guess?
Primer, no charge in the previous round.
JUST enough to pop the bullet from the case.
She clears empty case but doesn't check further.
You really HAVE to watch for the warning signs.

Yep,squib load. She clears the case and closes the bolt. Bullet in the throat from squib load. She is darn lucky she did not get blinded. No shooting glasses! Shooting a semi!

She did not look experienced. A person shpuld always check to see what went wrong before shooting more
