Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

I need help figuring out what type/caliber of rifle this is

#1 Post by Benvandette » Sun May 17, 2020 7:56 pm

I have this bolt action rifle I inherited. I can tell that the barrel is bigger then a .22 lr and smaller then a .223 the only marking on the gun is a burn stamp on the stock of the country Silesia. I took the gun apart and on the bottom of the barrel near the action are some symbols and numbers 88 or 8.8 m/m, 3.26, 2 2 1, and 21
I spent all day trying to research this gun and I can’t find anything..

When you say barrel do you mean chamber or bore?
Is bore rifled?
Is it rimfire or centerfire?
Captain Obvious, you have never failed me!

Can you show pictures of the bolt area and bolt stem as well as the rear of the bolt. Also the chamber and receiver areas?
To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

Following. Looking for some more pictures of the bolt, bolt face, chamber, and maybe some more of the barrel markings.
