I was thinking of a stocking stuffer type gift for the Granddaughter and thought of the Snuggie blanket (as seen on TV). Thank goodness I Goggled it first. (see link) Poor kid would have been the object of ridicule. I think I'll stick with what I know best and get her more ammo or a spin target to go with the .177 RWS air rifle I bought her as her main gift.

Yeah, I saw that one.
If they came in brown I was going to buy one to go to next year's Rennaisance (sp?) Festival as a Monk. I figured you could get all wrapped up in it, tie on a rope belt - VOILA - Monk!

Hahaha I saw the commercial for that today! The first thing that came to mind was a bishop for churches.

I think I'll stick with my normal blanket. The design has lasted 50,000 years for a reason. :P

Don't we call those...robes? :)

Any time they say it's a <insert large price> value for only <insert low price> and throw in some free piece of junk you know it's a rip-off. If it's worth so danged much then how can they sell them at a low price and toss in a free gift? Plus, it never does solve the problem of keeping your hands warm.

I especially loved the people wearing it at the sporting event. :)

Oh Hell sporting events?

I need to buy one to wear at the Freezin Der Heinie Off Shoot.

Do they have a flash rating?

I would not want to get burnt from a Muzzle flash.

They're like some sort of even more goofy hospital gown! Oddly, my brother and I were just talking about these on Thanksgiving. The family around the fire pit in that ad looks a bit like some sort of cult or secret society!

That and the name is a homophone of a rather painful prank. I would not want to be misheard saying, "I gave my granddaughter a snuggy."

They are the strange disciples of Ron Popeil, "inventor" of the infomercial.

It looks like Google saved you. Too bad it didn't help me several years ago. It must have been a dozen years ago or so that Cher had a perfume that got heavy advertizing. The wife mentioned that she'd like some and being the challenging to buy for person she is I made a mental note to get some. Christmas morning she found it in her stocking and promptly put some on and asked me what I thought about it. Lacking in my ability to lie when I should I told her that it smelt like Off. She wasn't pleased with my unbiased opinion. Later that day, at her parents house she asked her brother what he thought of it. He said that it had a familiar aroma (he'd been married far longer than I had and knew how to lie). She threw it away when she got home. It's too bad because I think it would have been a good perfume when we went camping.

So, I think I'll take your lead and check my future gift ideas on Google. Thanks for the pointer!
