They (Springfield) only made 4 of these 1868 Springfield Trapdoor Carbines as prototypes. So not an official model. I have always wanted a 50-70 Carbine and can't afford a real 1870 model. I had a bad barrel and a bunch of parts. With a bit of help from Dick Hosmer, I made this. It's not designed to fool a collector, but it fun to shoot 50-70 from a carbine!
Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.
