Dutch Beaumont 71/88

Post by tbohnet »

I recently picked up a Dutch Beaumont 71/88. Too bad the stock was cut back at some point (it was to good of a deal to pass up). Still looking forward to getting it cleaned up, and seeing how it shoots. I did some looking around here and there isn't much. Guessing all that was here got lost...

In mine I got the best results with a 300 grain .458 bullet and Trail Boss powder. 4227 powder also worked fine. I didn't try black powder.

Thanks, what are you using for dies/brass? I've seen all sorts of different ways guys are reloading. Trying to figure out what would be the best.

I got the C4HD dies, which were very pricey...something like $158 several years ago. I got 20 loaded cartridges from Gad Custom Cartridge and then reloaded the brass.
