My rifle from Afghanistan

Post by M67 »

During my the second tour in Afghanistan in 2010/11 I worked a lot with Afghanistan National Army, Afghanistan National Police, Italian Task Force and US Task Force in BALA BOLUK- FARAH Province, SHINDAND, GULISTAN and other nice and hot places. I was a member of Operational Mentoring and Liaison Teams (OMLT).
There ware a lot of confiscated weapons mostly AKs, Iranian G3, Lee Enfields and so on. I remember one MG Gorjunov SG-43 in perfect condition. It was in front of the bunker in our home - FOB Leimbach, our FOB in BALA BOLUK. As a gift I received this rifle. It is some kind of "Martini".

I would like to know something more about this rifle. It is in poor condition however it is a source of nice memories from Afghan.
Thanks, Franko

Rifled bore or smooth bore shotgun?

Looks like it was rifled. Very heavy barrel. Caliber on the muzzle is 12,7 mm.

Cool souvenir. Looks like a standard Kyber Pass made copy of the Martini.
The stock looks like it was for another rifle entirely.
Nice wall hanger.
