Winter glove trigger for your M1 & others

saw this the other day, never knew such a thing was made...Seems like it would be dangerous jumping into foxholes and on the ground with one of these.. But talk about a simple fix...

I think it was a good idea to keep the safety on while using them

When it gets below zero here, you really don't want to take off your gloves or mittens to disengage the safety. With decent gloves, there's little room (usually none) to get your finger into the forged trigger guard either. The stamped trigger guard has more room. I suspect the rifle was carried loaded, with a round in the chamber, and the safety off. Probably the right hand was further back on the buttstock from the trigger until already in position to fire. In truly arctic conditions, with permafrost covered by hard frozen ground, there probably wouldn't be much in the way of foxholes or trenches. Digging in would require explosives.
