M1 carbine ammo pouch

Post by M67 »

I got this ammo pouch yesterday (without magazines).
On the front I noticed almsot unvisible letters U.S.
On the back side there is script: ??PE?? AWNING CC. or CG. and below 1943.

I have few questions. Are they original from WW2? Probably previous owner washed them.
Hope they will look good on my carbine INLAND GM 1-45.
Thanks for the answers.

It will look nice on that carbine.. the full name printed is "Updike Awning CO".. And it looks pretty original to me.

Sun and use will also wear out the lettering. And yours looks like it has seen some use. Nice

Now if you mount it on the stock then take so electrical tape and cover the snap on the inside of the pouch. This will prevent the snap from scratching and digging into the wood of the stock.
