C & R Surplus Spring LLC. "Attack The Slack"
Get rid of that loose trigger feel associated with most Mosin Nagants. Installs on trigger pin for simple installation. Spring uses less than 1/2 pound of force to hold trigger in forward position. The result is no slack or looseness for a much improved trigger pull and better accuracy. Will work on all Mosin Nagants including Finnish models. See the results for yourself. Now you can see the difference before buying. $7.00 + Shipping+Handling. Discounts on quantities 10 or more. Order from website with money order or PayPal. http://www.crsurplusspring.com

Mosin Nagant Front Sight Post Extension (High Shooting Fix)
After noticing a lot of shooters having a problem with their Mosin Nagants shooting high and seeing all the different ideas that people have for extending the front post. I decided to come up with something that would make it easy for someone to fix the problem. This saves you the time it takes to find the right material. For that matter finding the right size material. For the person that likes to do it yourself this may not be of interest. I have come up with a kit with two pieces of black polyethylene. They are of the correct size to fit snug on most sight post. The two pieces are long enough to correct at least 4 sight post. I have them on three of my Mosin Nagants and they work great for me. I have just recently started selling them on Ebay for $2.95 and $1.95 shipping. Feedback is always welcome. I now have them posted on my web site.

Excellent design and works great! The only bad thing is I didn't think of it. Clyde is a heck of a guy and don't be shy to deal with him.

I LOVE this spring. It does what it says. Takes all the extra slack out of those floppy Mosin triggers. Makes it feel like a true two stage military trigger. Don't be afraid to deal with Clyde. He stand by his product and gets a big thumbs up from me.

As I've stated in several other posts, I was fortunate enough to be picked by Clyde to be one of the initial testers of this spring. After several iterations to get the shape just right, the testers declared it fit to market and I, for one, am glad he's doing just that.

You can rest assured that Clyde will deal with you fairly and his product does exactly what he says it does. I have them on my M44 and 91/30 and you couldn't get me to remove them. They make the trigger on both feel like they should have in the first place.

Shucks guy's your making me blush. Really though thanks for the compliments. These springs are really starting to keep me busy. I have a couple of other projects I would like to work on but don't have the time right now. I thought maybe I would elaborate a little on the design concept of this spring. It's funny, on another board guy's were discussing my spring. One said you can use any small spring lying around even a pen spring to do the same thing or get one from the hardware store. Yes you can and I did. Believe me I tried a lot of springs. The only problem is. A pen spring is made for a pen. And I didn't see Mosin Nagant labeled on any of the springs at the hardware store. I wanted to design a modern spring specifically for the Mosin Nagant. Yes springs have been used in this trigger before like the M28 Finnish. That design was very crude to say the least but it worked. The first order of business was the number of coils and the inner diameter. I wanted it to have plenty of free play on the trigger pin. That's why the I.D. is quite a bit larger than the pin. I also wanted just enough coils to fill the trigger slot with just enough room to accommodate variants in different triggers. As for the tangs. The short tang only had to be long enough to have a good grip on the trigger. The long tang had to be long enough not to cause interference with the sear spring. Thanks to the cnc multiformer we were able to put a small degree bend on the long tang at the coil to help keep it away from the sear. Small radius bends were put on each end of the tangs. This is one of the big differences between old tech and new tech. By putting the radius on the ends, when the spring coils while pulling the trigger the ends will slide on the trigger and receiver. Where as if they were cut off straight they would scrap. Like the Finnish M28. After the springs were finished the were heat treated for the desired heat set. You want them to hold form for a long time so heat set is critical. Well that's about it. Oh! I can't leave out the beta testers. If not for you guy's giving me your feedback, ideas, and support this may not have ever came to fruition. Thanks everyone. Clyde

You forgot to mention value. By the time you go to the hardware store and back, you are out gas money and time (what it your time worth?). What does a decent pen cost + your time (again what is your time worth?). By the time you fool around with different parts, taking the gun apart again and again, my time is more valuable than that and I would rather spend a few bucks on a CORRECTLY engineered part and spend more time shooting (or OK selling more stuff to buy more stuff).

Anyone who knows us knows we test every product and we will not sell anything we would not use ourselves and we are proud to sell these springs at all the shows we do.

Here's the video with my testing of the Huber trigger and my spring. I really liked the results.

I love my spring!

I put it in my fake Mosin PU sniper. I had lightened up the trigger spring and the trigger was swinging like a porch swing in the wind.
After installing I have a nice take up on a two stage trigger.
It has actually helped alot in the overall feel.

I now have a Information and Installation video for my Slack Spring posted on You Tube. I'm no Billy Mays (may he rest in peace). Hopefully it gets my message across.

Ordered a spring and got it today. I put it in my M44 and what a difference! I am impressed! $7 well spent.

I ordered 2 springs and a sight packet. I "lost" a spring in the yard after opening the envelope. Thinking that I had only been shipped one, I wrote and asked if I had been shorted a packet and CR was going to ship a replacement spring the next morning........ one of my dogs gave me the "lost" spring packet later that evening.... The spring works as advertised and C&R Surplus Springs is an upstanding and honest business. :thumb: Thank you Clyde for developing these..... =D>

Put one in my 91/30 and polished up the sear and where it contacts the bolt and made a world of difference on the trigger. Highly recommended.

Great product!!! I got one of the orginal test springs and forgot to write a review but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Ctresor I have actually been meaning to contact you about making some springs for my ndm-86 in .308 to hold the firing pin back. I have not been able to find a stock replacement spring for it.
