Mas 36-51

Post by lamontagne0527 »

I've had a mas 36-51 for years and i believe it was once an original purpose made mas 36 that was upgraded to the 51 designation. The marking on the receiver looks more like a 36_51, the dash is definitely not centered and looks more like an underscore and the serial number itself isnt one of the double letter prefixes along with still being a cursive single letter prefix. It was definitely upgraded/refurbished since it looks practically brand new and the buttstock doesnt have the typical MAS stamp.

The Mas 36-51 were numbered separately from the standard Mas 36 series, a total of around 150.000 were made starting with F prefix in 1953 and with the highest known number G 49xxx in 1959.
