Photobucket's racket !

Post by Andre-Richard »

I'm not ready to accept their latest blackmail and am willing to move to another photo hosting site.  Any recommendation welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I only use only one on-line photo site for a lot longer then 12+ years; hunt101, and I'm happy with it

I don't use Photobucket, but I see a lot of broken picture links all over the place. What are they doing that is upsetting you?

here is what PHOTOBUCKET is doing;

Late last month, Photobucket changed its policy so that if you want to host your photos there and post them to another website — your eBay seller page, or perhaps your blog or website — it’s going to cost you $400.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/katienotopoulo ... .piN5Z6bAw

I'm sure that there will be a lot of people that will pay the 400 dollar fee. but there will be far, far more (millions) that will dump them and look for other hosting sites like the original poster. which will make the other hosting sites bulging at the seems with new users.

just hope that what PHOTOBUCKET is doing doesn't catch on and other sites start charging to host photos

time will tell.

That's funny, my account is still active and posting pics with no fee. Hmmmm?

I got my email from them on this subject yesterday, so yours is probably coming soon. I'd just about had enough of them anyway as the pop-up ads were becoming ridiculous.

considering, worldwide they have millions and millions of people that use PHOTOBUCKET, it's only a matter of time before they get around to you with that e-mail. then all your pictures you ever posted will look like this

Can you get your pics off of there and bring them back to the pic? I have pics there that I don't have anymore on my devices.

Yea, you can download them but it's a pain in the ass and time consuming if you have a bunch of albums or folders.

can't you just right click over a picture and SAVE PICTURE AS then save it on your computer?

Sure, that's a little slower, but sure.
