Very nice rifle. I own a full 1898 made in 1901 also, a cut down 1898 sporter that shoots as good as my full rifle.

I have purchased several rifles from Hampel's in Traverse City, but the Krag came through Gun Broker in 2012.

Nice rifle. Wondered if it came from Hampels as I saw 3 or 4 nice ones there last spring.

It shoots okay but it's not a tack driver. Like most Krags it works better with round nose bullets. Spitzers just don't work for some reason.

How is this barrel?   A nice Krag drill rifle. Perfect for shooting tacks, like a Krag shotgun 8-) And it came with the original sling. I guess you got to tell the Legion they should clean a rifle after firing blanks :violin:

To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

It might shoot better than you think. Get some moderate 220gr loads and try it out.
