Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

CZ 70 came home today

#1 Post by Rapidrob » Sat Sep 08, 2018 9:08 pm

50 TH anniversary sale at a local gun shop. Deep discounts on all used pistols and rifles.
I was approached by a salesman with a beautiful CZ 70 pistol with problems. It won't go bang. Hammer spring is weak.
Read my post of re-springing the CZ 50 pistol.
I knew at once what was wrong. I got the pistol for 200 hundred bucks out the door.
Once home I found someone had cut the hammer spring in half, filling the void with a number 8 rounded nut. Not the way to reduce the trigger pull in double action.
I had a new proper hammer spring.
A really good look at the pistol showed no import marks at all anywhere on the pistol. Is this normal? My CZ 50 is import marked.
Bore is perfect. The pistol likes my so called +P loads.

I test fired the pistol today against my CZ 50 and CZ 27. It held it's own keeping all shots in a 3" group at 25 yards. ( 24 shots of cast bullet reloads.)
The pistol shoots left of center and the rear sight will need to be drifted a little.

25 yard indoor range and my 1,000 fps loads did OK,not great. The pistol shoots to the right. I'll need to drift the rear sight over.

Looking good - they're all fun pistols. Very stylish holster, I really like it.
