Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

You won't believe this is for sale?

You won't believe this is for sale?

#1 Post by Rapidrob » Tue Feb 19, 2019 3:34 pm

A local gun shop is now selling 8x57m/m Mauser ammunition for $45.00 a box of 20 rounds. This ammunition is made in Germany especially for Mitchell's Mauser's rifles!
Got to love it.

Has to be Prvi Partizan Serbian mfg and their “Germany” story still can’t justify the price.

You know I can believe that, because that whole Mitchells Mauser incident is such a piece of collecting lore.. and the ammo was always pricy when it 1st came out.. I can see it being worth that in a collectors way..

And if you read the side of the box it does say Premium ammunition.. :)

One must have an original "German" Mitchell box of 8mm to display with the Mitchell's K98k. That way the story is total BS.

They had their own head stamp.. that says something... it would have been very easy to just toss a batch of PPU in a box and sell it as Mitchells. They did go the extra step.. And in the long road of Gun Collecting Mitchell's Mausers will take its place behind such names as Bannerman, Interarms, Century.. ETC... And I do not think any of them had ammo with their own head stamps.

PPU did ammo for Mitchels and others with the importers head stamp. Hansen ctg, Century’s Hotshot, FNM’s milsurp line, and others for the UK and Australia. Buy a bunch, and they will make it as you wish.
