Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

My Chilean 1895

#1 Post by shoggoth80 » Mon Aug 12, 2019 10:46 pm

Just sharing. No fancy titles. Had this one for several years. M1895, and made in 1895 by all I can tell. Ludwig Loewe. Pre DWM. Antique. Has the crest still. In original 7x57. Bolt is unfortunately a mismatch, but good shooting, clean bore. There's something about shooting these small ring Mausers. Just enjoyable.

It's a C prefix, but not OVS. Artifacts in the bore is dust, and fuzz from gun sock. Lol.

Many thanks... Looks Wonderful... I tell you those 1895 mausers are nice..

Per OVS, Do not think it could be OVS with it marked "Chileino" ??? But I am asking because everytime I think I get my head wrapped around which should be what, I gets confused again. :)

Have you shot her yet???.. Can not imagine it could be anything but wonderful..

I think some Boer guns were diverted to fulfill the Chilean contract, but I never seem to get my head wrapped around that story.

I've shot it off and on since I've owned it. Recoil is pretty easy. I've not benched it for groups, but I have made soda bottles dance.

I have the twin of that rifle, have has for a number of years too, and it is one of the most accurate rifles of any type that I own.

7X57 makes it very pleasant to shoot as well.

Great pics, Thanks for sharing.

Libertytreecollectors has one priced at $550. I thought I was nuts when I got matching rifles with slings at $170 from Gander back in the day :shhh: :shifty:
Have these really increased this much????????????
