Danzig Hunting Rifle

Post by Dasvie »

I've recently acquired a Danzig small ring hunting rifle in 8mm mauser made post ww1 by the Voss company. I'm missing the front mount and the scope for a complete piece. Can anyone shed any light on this piece?

What does this say?
Red arrow, can not make it out. Lots of luck finding a German scope   I am not into hunting rifles, but the description indicates a 6x power Oigee scope. I have no idea what that is? Not one of my rifles have scopes. see https://snipercollection.com/category/1 ... ee-berlin/

To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

There were two companies, Voss was the lesser of the two. They had close but basic mounts

:confusion-confused: My :twocents-02cents: :twocents-02cents: I bet the original German scope was worth 5 times what the rifle was and it was sold to someone that wanted a sniper scope for an original Gew 98 sniper rifle and then the left over rifle dumped. In WI cut up sporter mausers do not command any real cash. The links seem to indicate a hard to find rifle. A nice stock. I bet the value was in the scope.

There seems to be a bunch of them on flee bay and price is nuts, none have the mounts: at least you can obtain a scope.
